| The History of Captain John & His Family |
| The family history of Captain John goes back a long time.
His grandfather was also a captain and a ship owner. During the Second
World War, his grandfather used to go with his boat to Athens and
the other islands to provide food and other produce for Santorini,
because in those days supplies were scarce on the island. Captain
John was born in Santorini, and as a small child he used to help his
grandfather and father on the boats. One day he decided to become
a captain himself. |

| The History of Captain John's Traditional
Houses |
| A plot of family land used to house a wine canava, and
on that plot he built four traditional houses. He made sure that the
architecture blended with the traditions of Santorini, and he did
this out of love and respect for his island. The cave houses are situated
in the most beautiful part of Oia, in the Perivolas area. From this
part of Oia you have an extraordinary view of the entire village,
the small harbour of Armeni and the famous Santorini sunset. The Outdoor
Jacuzzi was built at the highest point of Oia, guaranteeing full relaxation
and the best view for a perfect sunset. |
